Pf Scholastic Team Takes First At Competition

The Post Falls High School Scholastic Tournament Team recently took first place honors at the North Region competition and went on to place third at the Inland Empire Academic League (IEAL), the highest finish of any North Idaho school ever.

Team members are; Jack Caughran (captain) also elected one of six MVP’s in the IEAL, Jared Kelsey, Toney Jacobson, Andy Marcy, Luke Denman, Tom Stamey, Grant Horiuchi, Karleine Cramer, Clay Horiuchi and Ryan Backman.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Rock A. Stoddard, son of Ken and Sandra Stoddard of Post Falls, has arrived for duty at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Stoddard, a 1984 Post Falls High School graduate is a firefighter and crew chief assigned to the 82nd Civil Engineer Squadron.

Air Force 2nd Lt. Dominick J. Martin, son of Gary Martin of Post Falls, has arrived for duty at the San Antonio-Air Logistics Center, Kelly Air Force Base, Texas.

Martin, a 1993 graduate of Lakeland High School and a 1997 graduate of the Air Force Academy in Colorado, is a program manager.

Marine Lance Cpl. Ronna M. Weyland, daughter of Ronald Weyland of Post Falls, has been promoted to her present rank while serving with Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Combat Development Center, Quantico, Va.

Weyland, who joined the Marine Corps in 1997, was promoted due to sustained superior job performance and proficiency in her designated specialty.
