John Huston shot a 66 for a record 54-hole total of 22-under 194 at the Hawaiian Open in Honolulu, bettering the mark of 195.

That gave him a comfortable four-stroke lead over Frank Lickliter, who moved into second place with a 66-198, as the tournament neared the end of a 33-year run.

Tony Johnstone of Zimbabwe opened a seven-stroke lead in the third round of the rain-delayed Alfred Dunhill PGA Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ernie Els of South Africa and Scott Dunlap of the United States were tied for second at 10-under.

Brian Barnes ballooned to a 1-over-par 72, yet held onto a one-stroke lead in the GTE Classic in Lutz, Fla., with a 7-under 135.

Vincente Fernandez was a stroke off the pace after turning in the lowest score of the day, a 66.

In Glendale, Calif., heavy rain washed out the second round of the Los Angeles Women’s Championship, making it the fourth California tournament plagued by El Nino storms this year.
