Dear Heloise: I have a large master bath and I placed a beautiful Oriental rug in the center. However, this left a bare tile floor directly in front of the two basins.

After failing to find tiny rugs to fit just in front of the two sinks, my daughter suggested I look for place mats that might be heavy enough.

I found woven place mats that are heavy and thick and the perfect size. I thought her idea was really creative. Hope you and others agree. - Frances Gernon, Bel Air, Md.
