Arthur Anderson Endicott, Wash.
Service for Arthur Anderson, 73, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colfax, Wash. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson, who was born in Ephrata, Wash., died Saturday.
He served in the Army and was involved in police work in San Francisco after his discharge.
In 1948 he married Nadeanne Ray in Olympia, and they made their home in Ephrata.
Mr. Anderson and his wife lived in Grant and Spokane counties, and he worked as a consulting construction engineer.
In 1972 they moved to Colfax, where he was city supervisor until 1980, before moving to Goldendale, Wash., where he was city public works director.
Mr. Anderson retired in 1989 and began a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in McAllen, Texas. He moved to Endicott in 1990.
He sang in several barbershop quartets and community choirs. He also sang with the Pages of Harmony of Spokane and the Bassonaires in Moses Lake. While living in San Francisco, he sang with the San Francisco Opera.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael and Nicholas Anderson, both of Endicott, Richard Anderson of Spokane and Anthony Anderson of Seattle; two daughters, Rebecca Staves of Endicott and Alicia Mattoon of Spokane; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Home Health and Hospice of Southeastern Washington.
Leona Watson Lind, Wash.
Service for B. Leona Watson, 106, will be at 11 a.m. today at Lind United Methodist Church. Burial service and vault burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Spokane. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Watson, who was born in Davis County, Mo., died Friday.
She came to Washington with her family in 1901, arriving in Hatton, Wash., by train, and then going by wagon to Franklin County, where they lived for a time. They eventually moved on to the Sandhills area in Adams County where the family made their permanent home.
In 1910 she married Alexander Watson in Spokane, and they made their home in the Delight, Wash., area.
In 1919 she moved to the current family farm southwest of Lind. She and her husband retired from farming and ranching in 1950.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lind, the Rebekah Lodge in Lind, the Washington Association of Wheat Growers and a charter member of the Sandhill Grange.
Her husband died in 1964.
Mrs. Watson is survived by a son, LeRoy Watson Sr. of Lind; two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Ben Findley Spokane
Visitation for Ben L. Findley, 75, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - North. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Cavendish (Idaho) Cemetery.
Mr. Findley, a 62-year Spokane resident, died Saturday.
He was born in Sheridan, Wyo.
He graduated in 1940 from North Central High School.
Mr. Findley served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a military police officer.
After the war, he established Northwest Custom Upholstery in Spokane. In 1952, Mr. Findley acquired Fort Berthold Seed Company in Airway Heights, which he operated until his retirement in 1987.
Mr. Findley graduated in 1952 from Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. He was an 18-year member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Frances; six daughters, Jacquelyn Findley of Colbert, Robin Adolfson of Spokane, Janet Findley of Delhi, Calif., Linda James of San Francisco, Ruth Findley of Colfax, Wash., and Cheryle Yankee of Juneau, Alaska; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Charles Bettinger Spokane
Visitation for Charles A. Bettinger, 69, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - North. Service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Bettinger, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Saturday.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Bettinger was the manager of Mr. Magic Car Wash for 21 years before he became owner of the Red Carpet Car Wash in 1978. He retired in 1988.
He was an 18-year member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Marcia; a daughter, Darcie Wong of Honolulu; two sisters, Rose Bothun and Theresa Ann Isslib of Spokane; and two granddaughters.
Pearl Donery Spokane
Graveside service for Pearl N. Donery, 85, will be at 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd-South Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Donery, who was born in Colfax, Wash., died Thursday.
She graduated from Colfax High School.
In 1937 she married Les Donery in Colfax, and they moved to Spokane in 1952.
Mrs. Donery was a homemaker and a member of Manito United Methodist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Donery of Seattle; brother, Vernon Hilty, and a sister, Fern Branum, both of Colfax; and three grandchildren.
Ruth Lawrence Colville, Wash.
Private burial for Ruth B. Lawrence, 94, will be today at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane. Danekas Funeral Home in Colville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lawrence, who was born in Deasmond, N.D., died Wednesday.
As a child, she moved with her family to Saskatchewan, where she was raised on the family homestead.
Mrs. Lawrence moved to Spokane, where she worked as a nurse for a few years.
She then moved to Metaline Falls, Wash., and lived there for more than 50 years before moving to Colville four years ago.
Her husband, Harry Lawrence, died in 1973.
Survivors include a sister, Alice Oliver of Colville.
Gladys Griggs Spokane

Mrs. Griggs, who was born in Eltopia, Wash., died Friday.
She was a cattle rancher in the Curlew, Wash., area.
Mrs. Griggs was a lifetime resident of the area and a 13-year resident of Spokane.
Her husband of 40 years, Rolla Griggs, died in 1983.
Survivors include a sister, Doris Smith of Endicott, Wash.; and a brother, Sidney Bruner of Spokane.
Noreen Phillips Spokane
Service for Noreen F. Phillips, 93, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Care Center. Private burial will be Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Phillips, who was born in Washington state, died Saturday.
She worked as a private registered nurse.
Mrs. Phillips was a resident of Spokane for 75 years and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Her husband, John, died in 1996.
Survivors include a brother, Patrick Quirk of Odessa, Wash.; and a sister, Bertha Ryker of Spokane.
Lillian English Spokane

Mrs. English, who was born in Sandpoint, died Thursday.
She worked as a model for Colbertsons Clothing Store and was a 90-year Spokane resident.
Her husband, Lawrence English, died in 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo and Linda.
Leon ‘Cy’ Evans Hayden Lake, Idaho
Service for Leon “Cy” Charles Evans, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. A reception will follow the service at Yates Hayden Chapel Gathering Center. Burial will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mr. Evans, who was born in Harlowton, Mont., died Thursday.
He grew up in Montana and 1949 graduated from Great Falls High School.
Mr. Evans went on to serve with the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hector during the Korean War and later attended Montana State University, receiving a degree in civil engineering.
Mr. Evans worked for the Bureau of Land Management in the Eugene, Ore., District in 1965 and then was transferred to the Coeur d’Alene District in 1971.
He worked in Coeur d’Alene until being transferred to the Burns, Ore., District in 1980 and then to Roseburg, Ore., in 1982.
Mr. Evans was then transferred to the Spokane District in 1988.
He moved to Hayden Lake and worked at the Spokane District until his retirement in 1994.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Caroline; three sons, Dean Evans of California, Mark Evans of Post Falls, and Mike Evans of Denver; a daughter, Colleen Evans of Coeur d’Alene; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Sylva Beck Redmond, Wash.
Service for Sylva C. Beck, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Lind, Wash. Vault burial will follow at Lind Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beck, who was born in Cunningham, Wash., died Friday.
She graduated in 1935 from Lind High School.
In 1938 she married Fred Beck in Spokane, and they made their home in Lind.
Mrs. Beck was a homemaker and a member of the Lind United Methodist Church, the Tredeeim Club, the Lind Parent Teachers Association and the Elks Lodge. She was a den mother for Cub Scout troops in Lind for more than nine years.
Her husband died in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Beck of Redmond and Randall Beck of Kirkland, Wash.; a sister, Eleanor Robertson of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Roger Fisk Chewelah, Wash.
Service for Roger L. Fisk, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah. Burial will follow at Chewelah Memorial Park.
Mr. Fisk, who was born in Valley, Wash., died Friday.
In 1942 he married Maxine Driscoll in Moscow, Idaho.
He was a mining engineer and retired in 1968 from Northwest Magnesite Co. after 26 years. Mr. Fisk was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Chewelah Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Albert Fisk of Chewelah; two daughters, Jean Faulkner of Atlanta and Joan Chalmers of Coeur d’Alene; two sisters, Lois Brannin of Port Angeles, Wash., and Ferne Luedtke of Poulsbo, Wash.; two brothers, Wilbur Fisk of Olympia and Russell Fisk of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Harmon Norris Spokane
Service for Harmon A. Norris, 47, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Paschal Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Norris, who was born in Lakeside, Mo., died Friday while vacationing in Mesa, Ariz.
He graduated from high school in Lompoc, Calif., and then received his business degree in 1972 from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
In 1972 he married Patci Mitchell in California.
Mr. Norris worked as an area sales manager for R.J. Reynolds for 25 years. The last 14 years was in Spokane.
He was involved with the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, the Childrens Miracle Network and Ferris High School’s Ham on Regal.
Mr. Norris was a member of two work-related clubs called S.P.A.R.K.S. and G.M.M.A..
Survivors include his wife of 26 years; a son, Aaron Norris, and a daughter, Lisa Norris, both of Spokane; his parents, Deane and Judy Norris of Ephrata, Wash.; and a sister, Paula Gray of Ephrata, Wash.

Edwina (Phillips) Brimble Spokane
Graveside service for Edwina E. (Phillips) Brimble, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, Wash. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brimble, who was born in Benewah County, Idaho, died Saturday.
She graduated in 1948 from Tekoa High School and was salutatorian of her class.
Mrs. Brimble graduated in 1952 from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.
She worked in Seattle for two years before moving to San Francisco, where she was employed with Dunn and Bradstreet.
In 1955 she married Herbert Brimble in Reno, Nev., and they made their home in Dallas. They moved to Spokane in 1957, then to Houston in 1964, before returning to Spokane 10 years ago.
She was a member of the Rainbow Girls and the Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Brimble of Central Point, Ore.; a daughter, Lynette Brimble of Houston; a brother, Donald Phillips of Phoenix; and a grandson.

Dorothy Jones Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy J. Jones, 90, was Monday at Heritage Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Jones, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Friday.
She graduated from North Central High School and from Kinman Business University with a degree in public accounting.
Mrs. Jones worked as a real estate broker and certified public accountant with National Cash Register Co., LaMasters and Daniels, Arthur Jones Co. and then retired from the James S. Black Co., where she served as controller and office manager.
She was a past national president of the American Women’s Bowling Congress and the American Society of Woman Accountants. She was also a member of the board of directors for Fairmount Memorial Association, the Spokane Board of Realtors, Washington Association of Realtors, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, American Institute of Parliamentarians, Women of the Moose, Spokane Elks Emblem Club, Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Soroptimists.
Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, E.J. Mimnaugh; a sister, Thelma Dziamaga; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edith Strand Kettle Falls, Wash.
Service for Edith M. Strand, 92, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash. Graveside service and burial will follow at Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls.
Mrs. Strand, who was born in Meyers Falls, Wash., died Saturday.
She graduated in 1924 from Marcus (Wash.) High School, and received her teaching certificate from Cheney Normal School.
Mrs. Strand taught in Marcus, Bossburg, Wash., Chelan, Wash., and Ephrata, Wash.
In 1940, she married Archie Strand in Spokane.
She continued teaching and returned to Marcus where she became principal before retiring in the 1960s.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was the warder in the grand chapter. She also was a member of Colville First Congregational Church, Kappa Sigma Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Her husband died in 1977.
Survivors include a sister, Sylvia Bender of Kettle Falls.
Ruth Crisp Spokane

Mrs. Crisp, who was born in Madisonville, Tenn., died Saturday.
She was a homemaker and an 85-year resident of Spokane.
Her husband, Kenneth Crisp, died in 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Alan and Bruce Crisp, both of Spokane; a daughter, Marian Wilkinson of Spokane; her stepmother, Pauline Strange of Spokane; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Mi Chea’l McClendon Spokane
Wake service for Mi Chea’l McClendon, 48, was Sunday at the Hour Place Restaurant and Lounge.
Mrs. McClendon, who was born in Edmonton, Alberta, died Feb. 3.
She was a resident of Spokane for 11 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Forrest; two children, Chris and Jennifer Harper; her mother, Lorena Felling; and several brothers and sisters, Tanya Denham, Tony, Ronald, Jerry and Brenda Harper, Linda Caccarner and Sheila Mount.
Nellie Haase Spokane

Mrs. Haase, who was born in Toppenish, Wash., died Friday.
She was a resident of Kettle Falls, Wash., for 41 years and worked as a checker at the Safeway store in Colville, Wash.
Mrs. Haase moved to the Spokane area seven years ago.
Her husband, Arthur, died in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Maguire of Veradale; a son, Daniel Haase of Juneau, Alaska; a sister, Eva Shull of Peshastin, Wash.; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Elizabeth Gilbert Spokane
Memorial service for Elizabeth S. Gilbert, 96, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilbert, a 76-year Spokane resident, died Saturday.
She was born in Pittsburgh and worked as a reference librarian for 42 years at the main branch of the Spokane Public Library. She was one of the original founders of the library’s history room.
Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was active in the Lucia Pratt Circle. She also was a member of Kappa Gamma Phi and the Amethyst Club.
Survivors include two sons, Richard and George Gilbert, both of Seattle; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
