Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: While on vacation recently I was carrying a bag with gifts. I started wondering, what would happen if I lost it and a well-meaning person found it, how would they contact me? I decided to put my business card in the bag so they could either call me or mail it. Nancy Wooldridge, Trabuco Canyon, Calif.

If you are staying out of town, you may want to write the name of your hotel on the back of the business card. It would make returning your lost items quicker and easier. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: I keep a small pocket-size telephone book just for fax numbers next to the fax machine. It sure saves a lot of trips to my main telephone directory at the other end of the house.

Thank you for your wonderful columns and books! - Cathy Nelson, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
