Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: As the pet-lover in our family, I’ve often been the pet sitter for vacationing family members.

When keeping the pet, I immediately place a gummed return-address label on its collar. If the pet gets loose, my neighbors will see the local address and can return the animal to me.

I thought of this after I lost my nephew’s cat one year. Fortunately, he returned on his own four days later.

Thanks for your many hints! - Rosemary Sanders, Columbia, S.C.

Dear Heloise: I read your column regularly and would like to pass this hint on to your readers.

Always keep a pad and pencil at or near the television so that you can take down a phone number or address that might be of interest.

I used to miss many things because by the time I located a pencil and paper, it was too late and often the information was not repeated. - Lucile Blakemore, Nashville, Tenn.
