Hanson’s more fervent followers know the true meaning of “fan” - as in “fanatic.”

It’s not unusual for devotees to drive 10 hours to camp out in front of the singing trio’s Tulsa home, Taylor Hanson tells TV Guide.

“Four of five cars will just sit there,” he says. “Having fans like that is what keeps you able to do it, having fans that will stay up all night to get tickets for a concert.”

Isaac Hanson, oldest brother in the Grammy-nominated group, adds that admirers in Indonesia tore at their clothes and hair during a recent tour. “It’s a humbling experience because you don’t witness that often,” he says. “So it’s like, ‘Whoa! Why is this happening?”’

But the boys apparently prefer teens to toddlers, having recently rejected a proposed TV special with Barney the purple dinosaur.

A respected classical dancer in India is asking her government to stop the Spice Girls from performing at a 1,000-year-old Hindu temple known for its erotic sculptures. “The profile of the Spice Girls does not match that of the temples,” says Geeta Chandran. “Eroticism sans spirituality will be reduced to pornography.

We thought those singing Eagles were extinct

The Eagles rock band is suing the National Foundation to Protect America’s Eagles, claiming the nonprofit organization is infringing on the musical group’s trademark in videos, its Web site (eagles.org) and its toll-free telephone number (1-800-2-EAGLES).

So, she’s leaving some money to her hares

Grace Slick, meanwhile, has agreed to donate a percentage of her royalties from the Jefferson Airplane classic “White Rabbit” to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, for its campaign against Procter & Gamble to “end the suffering of rabbits and other animals now being poisoned and killed in the name of Tide, Crest and Crisco.”
