Big-game hunting

With 40 years of big-game hunting under his belt, Wyoming hunter and filmmaker Mike Eastman goes on the road each winter presenting hunting clinics.

Spokane is one of 30 cities on the tour this year, with his Elk and Mule Deer Hunting Show set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Doubletree Inn on Sullivan Road.

Eastman, who publishes a biggame hunting magazine called The Eastman’s Journal, began guiding elk hunters at the age of 18 in Wyoming’s Gros Ventre Wilderness. The hunting show features segments of Eastman’s videos as he narrates and provides tips, tactics and strategies.

Patience and planning are the two important keys to successful trophy hunting, he said.
