Outdoor Women
Organization meeting
Just for women, a new group is trying to take the threatening nature out of outdoor sports ranging from archery and backpacking to trapshooting and wildlife watching.
Washington Outdoor Women, a non-profit organization for teaching outdoor skills to women, is planning workshops in Spokane, said spokeswoman Alison Block.
With the support of the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department, WOW will be run by volunteers who love the outdoors and are anxious to share their expertise, she said.
The first meeting to plan an area workshop is Friday , 7 p.m., at the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council Center, 6116 N. Market. Info: Alison Block, 226-0311. , DataTimes
