Quesnells Take Border League Honors

The Quesnells of Post Falls - son Chad, father Wade - were named player of the year and coach of the year, respectively, in the Border League.

Chad Quesnell, a 5-foot-9 senior, averaged 20 points per game.

He’s joined on the first team by Casey Hoorelbeke (6-6, sr.) of Coeur d’Alene, Paul Malisani (6-4, sr.) of Cheney, Chad Cheeley (6-0, sr.) of Lake City, Jim Rupp (5-10, sr.) of CdA, Carson Egland (6-8, sr.) of Lewiston and Brad Groh (6-3, junior) of West Valley.

Second-teamers are: James Kiger (6-3, sr.) of Cheney, Jason Eck (6-3, jr.) of Lewiston, Andrew Burgess (6-2, sophomore) of East Valley, Steve Johnson (6-5, sr.) of Lewiston and Pat Stiffler (5-8, sr.) of Cheney. Burgess also was named newcomer of the year.

In the girls honors, Lake City senior Lindsay Herbert was MVP.

Herbert is joined on the first team by Anna Getz (5-8, sr.) of Cheney, Janelle Ruen (5-11, jr.) of Post Falls, Gabby McClintock (5-9, sr.) of WV, Alison Asher (6-4, sr.) of Lake City and Kara Weitman (5-8, jr.) of Cheney.

Named to the second team were: Kim Wegner (6-0, sr.) of Lewiston, Shaylia Davis (6-0, soph.) of CdA, Laura Dodge (6-0, jr.) of LC, Carmi Eberle (5-2, soph.) of Post Falls and Rebecca Triplett (6-0, jr.) of EV.

Chris Johnson of Post Falls was coach of the year, PF freshman Desiree Johnson top newcomer.
