Rams Signs Linebacker

The St. Louis Rams signed free agent inside linebacker Eric Hill to a multiyear contract, the NFL team said.

Keith Byars, one of the best receiving running backs in NFL history, signed with the New York Jets, reuniting him with coach Bill Parcells.

The New England Patriots agreed to a three-year, $2.7 million contract with free-agent fullback Tony Carter.
