Man Robs Bank On South Hill

A man robbed a bank on the South Hill Friday afternoon, Spokane police said.

The suspect walked into the Farmers and Merchants Bank, 3002 S. Southeast Blvd., about 4:20 p.m. and tried to cash a large check, police said.

When the teller refused, the man pulled a black semiautomatic handgun from his waistband and demanded money. The teller gave him a yellow envelope filled with cash and the suspect left, police said.

He is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build and reddish blond hair. He wore glasses and a black baseball cap and windbreaker.
