Airway Heights Administrator Takes Position In College Place

Airway Heights City Administrator Mike Patterson has resigned his position after four years in the job.

He said he has accepted the position of city administrator at College Place in Walla Walla County.

Patterson, 30, was hired by Airway Heights in 1994 and served under outgoing Mayor Don Harmon.

Incoming Mayor Brian Grady said he wanted to keep Patterson as city administrator.

Now, the city is advertising for his replacement.

Patterson holds a master’s degree in public administration from Eastern Washington University.

He said he took the College Place job because it pays about $1,100 a month more.
