Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Parts of our house are wallpapered. In our foyer one of the wallpaper seams has lifted slightly from the wall and the wallpaper is curling out from the wall. Of course, I would like to repair this and glue it back to the wall without having to repaper the entire foyer.

Please let me know if there is a way to stick the existing wallpaper edge back to the wall so it looks better. - Robert Dworkin, Papillion, Neb.

No problem. You should be able to paste it back good as new with wallpaper paste found at any home-improvement or hardware store.

Be sure to read the directions before beginning. When you lift the loose wallpaper away from the wall, try to apply the paste as close as possible to the paper that is still attached. Use a straightedge such as a ruler to help smooth out the paper as well as distribute the glue evenly. Begin from the attached end and work toward the edge. It should look as good as if you had repapered. - Heloise
