Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I found a way to save money and get more news home from trips.

In my suitcase I pack a few blank note cards with envelopes. I can fill in the card with all my news plus tuck three postcards inside the card with more news written on each. This just takes one stamp and I am able to send four times the news and three times the picture postcards. - Sue Burkett

There’s nothing like getting your stamp’s worth as long as the weight doesn’t exceed 1 ounce for a 32-cent stamp. Each additional ounce will cost 23 cents. - Heloise Dear Heloise: Here’s a great way to save money on wrapping paper and make use of old calendars.

Use the colorful, pretty side of wall-calendar pages to wrap small gifts! It’s practical, and noticing the old year or month during the unwrapping is sure to generate some fun “remember when…” conversations at gatherings.
