Memorial Service For Women Slain In The Spokane Area Set For Jan. 19

A memorial service will be conducted Jan. 19 for women killed in the Spokane area.

The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third. A candlelight vigil will follow on East Sprague.

A four-detective task force is investigating the unsolved murders of 18 Spokane area women since 1984. The four most recent murders have been attributed to a serial killer.

“The gathering is a peaceful memorial for those who wish to acknowledge the value of human life and to join in grieving with the families of those who have lost a loved one,” a church bulletin said. , DataTimes
