Winkler Will Star In Gridiron Comedy

In his first high-profile feature role since his cameo as the spooky principal in “Scream,” Henry Winkler is set to star opposite Adam Sandler in Touchstone Pictures’ “The Water Boy.”

The comedy, which begins shooting next Monday in Orlando, Fla., centers on a water carrier (Sandler) for a college football team who turns out to have special skills that make him a valuable player on the gridiron.

Winkler will play Coach Klein, the man who discovers the water boy’s talent.

Also set to star are Kathy Bates as Sandler’s Cajun mother and Fairuza Balk as his friend and love interest.
