If Approved, $25 Million Measure Will Fund These Projects

If Mead school district voters approve a $25 million bond measure, the district would be eligible to receive $9.5 million in state matching funds. It also has $9 million to spend from its capital projects fund.

Here is a breakdown of how the district would spend the $43.5 million if the March 10 measure passes.

Modernize Mead High School; $31.5 million.

Modernize Colbert Elementary (original 1965 wing only), $1.9 million.

Three elementary classrooms for enrollment growth; $570,973.

Permanent classrooms to replace portables (two at Brentwood, three at Colbert, three at Evergreen); $1.5 million.

Multipurpose rooms and gyms (Brentwood, Colbert, Evergreen and Farwell); $3.5 million.

Roofing replacements (Colbert, Farwell, Midway, Shiloh Hills, Mead Middle); $1.8 million.

Carpet replacements (Midway and Shiloh Hills); $330,481.

Intercom replacements (Farwell and Northwood); $68,750.

Emergency lighting improvements (Colbert, Farwell, Midway, Shiloh Hills, Mead Middle, Northwood); $93,783.

Traffic safety and parking improvements (Farwell, Midway, Shiloh Hills, Mead Middle, Northwood); $514,800.

Playground flooding correction (Evergreen); $38,500.

Electrical upgrade improvements (Mead Middle and Northwood); $1 million.

Colbert office addition; $145,530.

Physical education and band area acoustic improvements; $24,503.

Transportation building improvements (fire alarm, electrical, roof, toilets); $284,846.

Maintenance building improvements (roof, emergency lighting); $56,000.
