Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: We were wallpapering a bathroom in our 100-year-old house. We were using vinyl-covered paper and having all kinds of trouble smoothing out the bubbles and wrinkles. Brushes and sponges didn’t work too well.
I tried using a cheap foam-covered paint roller. It worked great. I got rid of all bubbles and could smooth out the wrinkles. - Richard Feldborg, Camden, Maine
Dear Heloise: I’d like to make a suggestion on saving energy from constant opening of your refrigerator by children and adults who are always looking for something to eat.
After every shopping trip, list on a magnet board on the refrigerator door every snack or goody inside, so instead of standing in front of an open door they can see what’s inside by glancing at the list. - Sally, Van Nuys, Calif.
