Pentzer Rallies Whit Women To Victory
Senior guard Kristi Pentzer tied the game with 42 seconds remaining and hit 1 of 2 free throws with 5 seconds left to lift the Whitworth women’s basketball team past Seattle University 53-52 Friday night at the Pirate fieldhouse.
Pentzer replaced Emily Stuenkel in the starting lineup because the sophomore point guard has stress fractures in both legs. She’ll miss the rest of the season.
The Pirates (6-7, 5-2 Northwest Conference) led 50-44 with 5:35 left before the Chieftains (6-5, 4-4) went on an 8-0 run to lead by two with 1:20 remaining.
