Blackhawks Give Up Spot At Top Of League

Lewiston had its eyes on first place, and Cheney didn’t have all of its eyes.

Cheney’s leading scorer, Paul Malisani, took a finger to the eye in the first half and missed the rest of Saturday’s Border League game, a 62-52 win for visiting Lewiston (12-3, 9-2).

Malisani experienced blurry vision but is expected to return soon.

The 10th-ranked Blackhawks (12-3, 9-2) gave up first place to Coeur d’Alene, a winner over Clarkston. Cheney cut into Lewiston’s 20-point, third-quarter lead in the fourth but couldn’t come closer than six.
