Rangers Trip Dragons, Who Do Without Star
Area girls basketball
The virus that caused Miranda Routh-Corker of St. George’s to collapse following Friday’s win over Wellpinit kept the Dragons center out of action Saturday, when Selkirk scored a 64-46 Panorama League upset.
St. George’s, struggling without its leading scorer, suffered its first league defeat.
Molly Carlson shot 5 of 6 from both the field and the free throw line and added 13 rebounds and seven blocked shots to lead the Rangers (14-3, 9-2). Rachea Allert chipped in eight assists and seven rebounds.
The Dragons (13-3, 10-1) saw their seven-game winning streak end despite Wenchi Liu’s game-high 20 points. Selkirk became the first B team to defeat St. George’s this season.
