Williams Sisters Take To Chasing Men Down Under
A battle of the sexes dreamed up by the irrepressible Williams sisters received the blessing of Australian Open organizers Sunday. The weather, however, did not cooperate.
Serena and Venus Williams approached officials of the men’s ATP Tour to line up one-set challenges against male players ranked in the 200s.
Germany’s Karsten Braasch, No. 203 on the men’s tour, took up a challenge to play Serena in a set Sunday, but rain forced them to postpone their plan.
Venus was unable to get a challenge confirmed because she has reached the quarterfinals of the “real deal.”
