Symphony Sets Goal At $3 Million
The Spokane Symphony announced Wednesday a goal of $3 million for the fund-raising campaign that began in August 1996.
Until now, the campaign had not set a specific goal.
The announcement was made at the Ag Trade Center Conference Theater at a kickoff reception for the nearly 200 volunteers who will work on the community division part of the fund drive.
The symphony’s major gifts campaign has already raised nearly $2.5 million toward that $3 million goal, according to Catherine H. Rafferty, campaign manager for the orchestra’s fund-raising drive.
“The community division will reach the broadest segment of prospective donors,” Rafferty said.
Volunteers heard from campaign leaders Harriet Fix, Betsy Cowles and Bill Simer as well as the symphony’s music director, Fabio Mechetti, and executive director, Jonathan Martin. Members of the orchestra serenaded the volunteers with parts of Mozart’s Serenade in D. , DataTimes
