Untaxed Cigarettes Seized In Spokane Valley
A van containing more than 2,107 cartons of untaxed cigarettes was seized in the Spokane Valley on Wednesday, the Washington State Liquor Control Board said.
An unidentified person was jailed for felony possession of untaxed cigarettes, the board said. Penalties for the cigarettes could exceed $210,000.
The arrest came after a van was seen leaving the Colville Indian Reservation on its way to North Idaho, the board stated in a news release.
State officials have begun cracking down on the sale of untaxed cigarettes.
