Fireworks Illegal In Area
Law enforcement agencies are reminding the public that all fireworks are illegal in Spokane and most of the county.
That includes not only the use of fireworks, but the possession and transportation of them, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.
Since fireworks were banned by law several years ago, there has been a decline in the most serious calls for police service during the holiday, he said.
Citizens are asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233 to report violations.
The city-sponsored fireworks display begins at 10:10 p.m. Saturday in Riverfront Park.
