Double-Breasted Ride

The Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., is building a roller coaster with a double butterfly loop in honor of country singer Dolly Parton’s figure. “This ride has big features and curves, just like me,” said Parton, a partner in the park. Besides the double loop, the “Tennessee Tornado” will drop 128 feet through a mountainside with a top speed of 63 mph. The park is spending $8 million to build the roller coaster and a Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. The music museum is fitting, Parton said, because “my grandpa was a preacher, and I first started singing in his church.”
