Jack Clark Colville, Wash.
Funeral for Jack G. Clark, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Colville Assembly of God Church. Graveside service will follow at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clark, who was a 66-year resident of Colville, died Saturday.
He was born in Wilbur, Wash., and married Betty Koch in 1942 in Coeur d’Alene.
They moved to Seattle during World War II, where they worked at the Boeing Aircraft plant for four years. They returned to Colville in 1945 to operate Clark’s Cafe for the next two years.
Mr. Clark, with his brother Ken, opened Commercial Electric in Colville. They also established two other businesses under the parent company known as Valley Irrigation, and CB and C Plumbing. Mr. Clark operated those firms for 22 years in Colville until retiring in 1973.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Richards, and a son, Ray Clark, both of Colville; a brother, Bernard Clark of Colville; two sisters, Merle Brainerd of Silverdale, Wash., and Jerry Scamahorn of Leavenworth, Wash.; a stepbrother, Guy McGee of Colville; two stepdaughters, Joyce Curtis of Colville and Josephine Duncan of Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Hospital Fund.
Nova Jacobs Spokane
Memorial service for Nova Ethel Jacobs, 84, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Open Door Congregational Church in Deer Park. Inurnment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jacobs, a former resident of Deer Park, died Thursday.
She was born in East Wenatchee and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jacobs had been a resident of Spokane County since 1944. She was a member of the Open Door Congregational Church, Bethlehem Chapter 87, Order of Eastern Star in Deer Park and Daughters of the Nile in Spokane.
Her husband, Fred Jacobs, died in 1990.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy and Roger Jacobs, and a daughter, Janice Stockman, all of Spokane; a brother, Paul Metzger of Portland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Congregational Church.
Katherine Lord Spokane
Memorial service for Katherine Lord will be today at 2 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lord, who was born in Benton City, Wash., died Thursday. She was 69.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Patty Howard and Shannon Ernst, both of Spokane; two sons, Lenny Lord of Beaverton, Ore., and Steven Lord of Houston; three sisters, Emma Jean Nichols, Betty Roskame and Frieda Patton; and eight grandchildren.
Mildred Walters Spokane
Visitation for Mildred N. Walters, 90, will be today from noon to 6 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Walters, who was born in Two Rivers, Wis., died Friday.
She graduated from high school in Two Rivers and from Bellin Memorial Hospital nurses training school in Denmark, Wis.
Mrs. Walters worked as a registered nurse in Wisconsin, Washington and Hawaii.
In 1932 she married George Walters in San Francisco, and they moved to Spokane about 50 years ago. They spent their winters in Palm Springs and Hawaii.
Mrs. Walters was a member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Riverview Retirement Home. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association and Auxiliary, National Military Wives Association, Merritt Park Garden Club, South Hill Senior Center and Valley Senior Center.
Her husband died in 1979.
Survivors include a son, George Walters Jr. of California; a daughter, Gloria Emtman of Spokane; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
William Roberts Medical Lake
Memorial service for William F. Roberts will be held in Superior, Wis., at a later date. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Roberts, who was born in Duluth, Minn., died Friday. He was 81.
He was raised in Superior and had worked with Great Northern Railroad before moving to Medical Lake in 1953.
Mr. Roberts later worked for Lakeland Village as a plumber for 25 years and retired in 1979.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Eagles Travel Club, St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Medical Lake, High Flyers Square Dance Group and the Washington State Employees Union.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lendora; a son, Michael Roberts of Tumwater, Wash.; a brother, Earl Roberts, and a sister, Rose Gault, both of Superior, Wis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Center Pointe or Cheney Care Center.
Theodore Sloskowski Spokane
Vigil for Theodore Sloskowski, 81, will be today at 7 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Sloskowski, a 57-year resident of Spokane, died Friday.
He was born in Fulton, N.Y., and had worked as a supervisor for Kaiser Mead.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Bloomfield of Gresham, Ore.; a son, Terry Sloskowski of Portland; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Alvin ‘Jake’ Jacobson Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Alvin John “Jake” Jacobson, 87, was held Monday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Coeur d’Alene. Burial followed at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
Mr. Jacobson, who was born in Ontario, Canada, died Friday.
He moved to Emmett, Idaho, in 1917 and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1929 with a degree in electrical engineering. He played baseball for UI for three years.
Mr. Jacobson began a career with Washington Water Power in 1943 and served with the Army Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II.
He lived in Spokane after his military service and later lived in Lewiston, before settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1950.
Mr. Jacobson retired as a division plant superintendent with Washington Water Power in 1974.
He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Sigma Chi fraternity and the church Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Judy Hecht of Oregon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pauline Dellino Spokane
Funeral Mass for Pauline Dellino, 72, was Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial followed at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Dellino, who was born in Sandpoint, died Thursday.
She worked in the insurance business for 44 years, including as a secretary for Etten Insurance Co. for 25 years.
Ms. Dellino moved to Spokane in 1930 and was a member of St. Aloysius Parish, Altar Society, Hillyard Senior Center, Spokane Insurance Women and American Diabetes Society.
Survivors include a brother, Frank Dellino of Snohomish, Wash.

Orville Elmore Cheney
Graveside service for Orville M. Elmore, 94, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Cheney Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Elmore, who was born on a farm near Ritzville, Wash., died Saturday.
He moved to Cheney in the 1920s and had worked first for Union Pacific Railroad for many years and later for the state of Washington at Lakeland Village as a counselor.
His wife, Bessie, died in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia McConnell of Cheney; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Edward Hundeby Spokane
Funeral for Edward J. Hundeby, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery.
Mr. Hundeby, who was a 45-year resident of Spokane, died Saturday.
He was born in Raseau, Minn., and had worked for 17 years in Saudi Arabia for ARAMCO as an electrician.
Mr. Hundeby was a past master of Tyrian Masonic Lodge and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, El Katif Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star and Westview Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian.
Chester Clough Spokane
Memorial service for Chester R. Clough, 84, will be today at 3 p.m. at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.
Mr. Clough, who was a 60-year resident of Spokane, died June 27.
He was born in Spokane and raised in Wallace. At age 16, he moved back to Spokane and worked for the Davenport Hotel in the kitchen and for Western Union as a telegram courier.
Mr. Clough later retired from carpentry, having worked on many commercial and residential construction projects.
He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 98.
His wife of 63 years, Thelma, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Dick Clough of Deer Park; two sisters, Shirley Marshall and Arlene Lauder, both of Spokane; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Marcella Poage Spokane
Visitation for Marcella B. Poage, 79, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Poage, who was born in South Dakota, died Thursday.
A 52-year resident of Spokane, she was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, Carpenters Union Ladies Auxiliary and Westgate Christian Church.
Her husband, Lawrence, died in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Conner of Spokane and Bonnie Butler of Honolulu; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Ann Jepson Coeur d’Alene
A celebration of life for Ann M. Jepson, 70, will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51 in Spokane. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Jepson, who was born in London, died Thursday.
She became a U.S. citizen in the 1950s and moved to the Spokane area 22 years ago.
She worked at Keytronic as a quality inspector for many years and took early retirement in 1992.
She recently moved to the Coeur d’Alene area.
Survivors include five sons, Charles, Donald, Cliff, John and Michael; four daughters, Margaret, Barbara, Jane and Laura; a brother, Jack Chester; two sisters, Betty and Molly; and numerous grandchildren.
Phyllis (Wells) Taylor Veradale
Visitation for Phyllis E. (Wells) Taylor, 73, will be today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Millwood Community Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Taylor, who was born in Washington, D.C., died Thursday.
She was a 10-year resident of Spokane and had worked as a nutritionist for the University of Idaho.
Survivors include four sons, Ivan Taylor of Portland, Sam Taylor of Coeur d’Alene, John Taylor of Moscow, Idaho, and Don Wheeler of Laredo, Texas; three daughters, Patty Wilson of Spokane, Nancy Phelps of Boise and Maggie Wheeler of Seattle; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
