Spying An Honor
George Bush ran the CIA for only one year, but that may be enough to have the spy agency’s headquarters building named for him. The Senate has passed legislation that includes a provision to rename the CIA building in Langley, Va., the George H.W. Bush Center for Central Intelligence. The House is expected to vote on the proposal next week. The idea came from Rep. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, a former Bush administration official who said it would be “a fitting tribute” to the 41st president. Bush, who ran the CIA in 1976, is the only president to have served as CIA director.
