2 Men Still Missing After Boat Capsized
Lincoln County search crews continued looking Sunday for two men missing overnight after a jet boat capsized on the Kootenai River.
A third man was rescued and taken to a Libby, Mont., hospital. He was listed in stable condition Sunday.
Names and hometowns of the victims were not released. The two men still missing are 34 and 44 years old, deputies said.
A fisherman alerted Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies to the accident when he saw coolers and other items floating down the river about 8 p.m. Saturday. He spotted the items about an hour after he noticed a jet boat head upstream toward Kootenai Falls, deputies said.
About 50 searchers used seven boats to comb the river all day Sunday from Kootenai Falls to Bonners Ferry. The search is expected to resume today.
