We’Ve Been Going About This All Wrong Letter Of The Week: From June 28

My dear wife has never committed any crime, has not even gotten a traffic ticket. She has worked in the power sewing industry for 22 years. All that experience, and her current base pay is $5.25 per hour.

She spent nearly all winter on layoff and currently has no benefits whatsoever. She has medical and dental problems, and needs glasses.

She read about prisoners making up to $7 per hour. If the prisoners get sick, there are in-house medical people to care for them. Any prescriptions they need are given to them. In case of major sickness or accident, they get an ambulance ride to Deaconness Medical Center for further treatment. If they have eye problems, they get new glasses or contacts. If they have a bad tooth or need dentures, they get them.

My dear wife wants me to go to the criminal law library and find a crime she can commit so she can get a raise in pay, free eye glasses, free dental work, free prescriptions and good, free medical care. Walter E. Lane Spokane
