The Liberty School Board meets at 7 p.m. July 30 in the Liberty Elementary/Junior High cafeteria to adopt its 1998-99 fiscal budget. New projects include a high school addition and renovation funded by a $3.1 million bond passed in February and improvements to the district’s sewage treatment plant.

BENEWAH COUNTY St. Maries
A rodeo is scheduled for Sept. 12-13 in St. Maries, but a location is not yet determined. Benewah Fairgrounds is unavailable due to prior reservations by the Good Sam’s Club. BONNER COUNTY Sandpoint
Bonner County commissioners will consider several requests for zone changes during a round of public hearings July 30, at 1 p.m. in the Bonner County Courthouse. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended each of the zone change requests for approval.
Priest River
Postmaster Bill McInturff was belatedly sworn in recently after serving as the area’s postmaster for a year. McInturff noted changes in personnel and retirements in the Spokane office caused his ceremony to be postponed.

The Inland Empire Girl Scout Council is offering seventh- and eighth-grade girls training in television production. The weeklong class will start July 27 at North Idaho College and include lessons in interviewing, camera operating, editing and script-writing. Students will produce a mini-documentary. The class is not limited to Girl Scouts, but costs $25 for Girl Scouts and $32 for others. It will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Registration deadline is Wednesday.
