New Master’S Programs Approved For WSU
State regulators have approved four new master’s degrees for WSU-Spokane in the fall.
The Higher Education Coordinating Board, meeting Tuesday in Ellensburg, authorized the Spokane branch campus to enroll students seeking a master’s of science in architecture and landscape architecture, master’s of arts in interior design and a master’s of technology management.
WSU spokeswoman Barbara Chamberlain said classes for all but the technology degree will be available this fall from Spokane faculty.
In other action, the HEC Board recommended that the state release $993,000 to WSU and $257,000 to Eastern Washington University for meeting some performance standards - including faculty productivity - required by the state. Another $814,000 is available to WSU and $171,000 to Eastern if they meet state measurements for student retention, graduation rates and other factors.
