Witte Qualifies For Junior Finals

Spokane’s Bill Witte shot a 3-over-par 73 on Tuesday to lead all boys at the Pacific Northwest PGA Section MAX-FLI Junior Championship at Wing Point Golf and Country Club in Bainbridge Island, Wash.

Witte finished at 3-over 143 to qualify for the national championship, Aug. 19-22.

Jenny Kamimura of Burlington, Wash., was low for girls, at 156. But Lauren Ressler of Bellingham (157) will advance to nationals because Kamimura has a prior commitment.

Spokane’s David Fern won the boys 14-15 age group with a 144.
