The Spokane County prosecutor’s office wants local residents to remember that a serial killer is still on the loose in Spokane.

With that in mind, it will host an evening to promote awareness about the killer and the victims at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Hangman Valley Road and Hangman Creek Road.

Spokane County Sheriff John Goldman and Chaplain Keith Kirkenburg will speak. Family members of victims will attend, along with members of the joint city/county serial killer task force.

The task force is investigating the unsolved murders of 20 women in the Spokane area since 1984. Seven murders, including that of a woman in Tacoma, are believed to be connected to the same killer or killers.
