Bonners Ferry Duo Pick Schools
A pair of Bonners Ferry High multiple-sport athletes have solidified their college plans.
Amber Paulson has signed to play basketball at Albertson College in Caldwell. The 5-foot-10 wing was a three-year starter.
Paulson averaged a North Idaho-leading 21.1 points per game and 9.8 rebounds. She plans to major in English and wants to be a writer.
“What I like about Albertson is I’ll get a Division I experience but at a small school with a great education,” Paulson said.
Sarah Walter, a three-year starter at point guard, has accepted a scholarship to play golf at the University of Portland.
Walter led Bonners Ferry to the State B championship two years ago and was runner-up for medalist honors at state three weeks ago.
Sophomore Sarah Peterson of Concordia College in Portland was named to the All-Cascade Conference first team in softball.
A three-sport standout at Falls Christian Academy in Post Falls, she has a 4.0 grade-point average.
Peterson also was awarded a $600 scholarship from the Northwest College Women’s Sports Foundation. The non-profit foundation based in Boise provides scholarships for female student-athletes at NW schools.
