Obituaries

Janet Gomer Spokane

Funeral for Janet E. Gomer, 46, will be at 4 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Ms. Gomer, who was born in Hillsboro, Ore., died Thursday.

She graduated from Grants Pass (Ore.) High School and from LIFE Bible College, with a degree in theology.

She served in several capacities in the Foursquare Church before joining Shearson Asset Management in 1984.

From 1985 to 1990 she served as assistant treasurer and assistant secretary of Shearson Fundamental Value Fund. She also served as fund administrative and portfolio assistant during that time.

In 1990 she became chief administrative officer of Ken Roberts Advisory Group in Spokane, a Smith Barney subsidiary. Since 1994 she has served as vice president and director of Ken Roberts Financial Services, Inc.

Survivors include a daughter, Brittani; her parents, George and Meryle Kenaston of Auburn, Wash.; a brother, Richard Kenaston of Kent, Wash.; and a sister, Joyce Swords of Milan, Ill.

Steven Palmer Spokane

Memorial service for Steven Wayne Palmer, 37, will be at 3 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Mr. Palmer, a lifetime Spokane resident, died June 2.

He served in the Marine Corps and worked as a commercial cabinet maker.

Mr. Palmer was a member of the Enjoy Life Family Church.

Survivors include a son, Joshua Palmer of California; a daughter, Ashley Palmer of Ellensburg; his mother and stepfather, Pat and John Herriman of Spokane; four brothers, Benjamin and Michael Herriman, both of Spokane, Robert Palmer of Morenci, Ariz., and Garry Palmer of Phoenix; a sister Sheryl Herriman of Colville, Wash.; a foster sister, Terrisa Greene of Spokane; and his grandmothers, Ruth Chamberlain of Spokane and Clara Palmer of Safford, Ariz.
