Fund-Raisers For Aids Causes Planned

Three big AIDS-awareness fund-raisers are planned Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the region.

These events are sponsored by the Friends of Spokane AIDS Network and the North Idaho AIDS Coalition to raise money and awareness for AIDS causes in the Inland Northwest.

The events are:

Anne Kerry Ford, in cabaret at Dempsey’s Cabaret, 909 W. First, Spokane, on Friday at 8 p.m. Ford has an astonishing resume that includes a performance at the White House, roles in the movies “Fearless” and “Clean and Sober,” and Broadway stints in “Jekyll and Hyde” and “The Threepenny Opera.” She has performed her cabaret in Hollywood and San Francisco. She mixes her wit and “sparkling soprano” voice to create a unique cabaret act. Tickets are $20, available by calling 747-5362.

Preconcert Reception, 6 p.m. Saturday, Dempsey’s. Pianist John Boswell will perform in a preconcert reception before the Seattle Men’s Chorus concert later that evening. Tickets to the reception are $10, available by calling 747-5362.

Sunday in the Park With …, Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., Clark House on Hayden Lake, Idaho. This is a mesquite barbecue on the grounds of the Clark House, with entertainment by local performers, joined by performers from Los Angeles and New York, performing Broadway songs. Tickets are $20, in advance only, available at Dempsey’s (747-5362), Hot Flash of America (838-3011), and Mic & Mac’s in Coeur d’Alene (667-4858).

For all three shows, a special ticket price of $40 is available.
