Legion baseball

Matt Schwarzer struck out six in a complete-game effort and teammates Chris Eggleston and Derek Bishop slugged solo home runs as the Blue Devils edged the Cannons 3-1 at Shadle Park in an American Legion AAA baseball game Tuesday evening.

The Cannons took a 1-0 lead in the fifth before the Blue Devils bounced back for two in the bottom of the inning and another in the sixth.

Eggleston and Bishop had two hits apiece for the winners, with Bishop picking up two RBIs.

The Blue Devils had six hits, one more than the Cannons, who had no player with more than one.
