Man Sleeping Beneath Bridge Beaten, Stabbed
A homeless man was stabbed Wednesday after being beaten and robbed by other transients under the Monroe Street Bridge, Spokane police said.
The attack began at a hobo camp under the south end of the bridge about 3:30 a.m.
The 46-year-old victim told police he was sleeping there when three men confronted him.
The attackers, described as white and in their late teens or early 20s, beat and robbed him, police said. One of them then chased the victim when he tried to run away and stabbed him near Riverside and Madison.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries, which weren’t considered life-threatening, police said.
