James Ohnemus Coeur d’Alene
Service for James R. Ohnemus, 71, will be at 11 a.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mr. Ohnemus, who was born in South Dakota, died Tuesday.
He moved to Kellogg in 1947 and worked at the Sunshine Mine for several years and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1950. He worked at the Potlatch Lumber Mill before retiring in 1988.
Mr. Ohnemus was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edna “Eddie”; two sons, Rick Ohnemus of Texas and Rob Ohnemus of Alabama; five daughters, Joyce Barber of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Jan Nuszkiewicz, Julie Dahlgren, Jodi Nelson and Jill Foelsch, all of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Robert Ohnemus of Pullman; two sisters, Maye Ohnemus of California and Blanche “Lee” Ohnemus of Spokane; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Estella Chambers Spokane
Memorial service for Estella M. Chambers, 86, is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Chambers, who was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, died Wednesday.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 37 years.
Her husband, Orval Chambers, died in 1997.
Survivors include four daughters, Jeannette Bain of Spokane, Jacqueline Petersen of Pocatello, Idaho, Stella Haney of Salt Lake City and Judy Thorne of Tacoma; two sons, Jack and Dan Chambers, both of Spokane; 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mildred Bechard Spokane
No service will be held for Mildred G. Bechard. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bechard, who was 87, died Tuesday. She was a 56-year resident of Spokane.
She was born and raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and was a homemaker.
Her husband, George Bechard, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Roger Bechard of Boulder, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Cole of Camano Island, Wash., and Nanette Cowan of Veradale; two sisters, Azella Smith of Jerome, Idaho, and Florence Albert of Elk; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Center.
GayLynn Ellison Sandpoint
Memorial service for GayLynn Ellison, 46, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Gardenia Center on the corner of Church and Fourth in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ellison, who was born in Prescott, Ariz., died Monday.
She lived in Sandpoint for several years and worked at the Pastime Cafe for seven years.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce; two sons, Christopher Ellison of Missouri and Chad Ellison of Arizona; a daughter, Melanie Baisden of Arizona; four brothers, Roger Ross of New Mexico, and Louie, Richard and Donald Ross, all of Arizona; and one granddaughter, Holly.
Elvin Little Rathdrum, Idaho
Graveside memorial service for Elvin M. Little, 80, is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Rathdrum Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Little, a 15-year resident of Rathdrum and a former longtime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
He was born in Corinth, Iowa, and served in the Navy as a Seabee during World War II.
Mr. Little worked as an automobile mechanic for 40 years before he retired in 1980. He had worked for both Bright Volkswagen and Valley Volkswagen.
His wife, Alta Little, died in 1997.
Survivors include five stepchildren; three granddaughters and numerous stepgrandchildren.
Carl Hanson Pacheco, Calif.
Memorial service for Carl L. Hanson, 70, was June 6 at the Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel in Pacheco, Calif.
Mr. Hanson, who was born in Queenstown, Alberta, died May 27.
He was raised in Valleyford and graduated in 1946 from Lindberg High School there.
Mr. Hanson served in the Army and had worked as a computer operator with Chevron USA for 30 years.
He has lived in Contra Costa County for 31 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, June; a daughter, Judith Underwood of Pacheco; a son, Robert Hanson of Concord, Calif.; three sisters, Nora Wentz of Spokane, Inga Lord of Loon Lake, Wash., and Ann Jernigan of Concord; three brothers, Peter Hanson of Priest Lake, Idaho, Helmer Hanson of Seattle and Oscar Hanson of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and one granddaughter.
