Priest Lake Chamber Donates Auction Proceeds
The Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce recently donated its 1997 auction proceeds, in the form of grants, to groups and organizations dedicated to helping the Priest Lake area community. Recipients are:
Priest Lake Emergency Medical Technicians received $8,395 for 20 portable radios with 911 capability; Priest Lake Hospice received $1,000 toward the Bonner County teleconference program; Phyllis Low Music Scholarships were granted $800 to purchase two flutes and music lessons; Priest Lake Disaster Relief received $522 for 2,000 sandbags; Priest Lake Library received $1,625 for insulation, shelving, paint and gravel; Priest Lake Day Care Center received $1,814 for a swing set and fence repair; Priest Lake Elementary School received $720 for safety training and bike helmets; Priest Lake Snowmobile Groomer Advisory Board received $5,000 for start-up operations; Priest Lake Youth Consortium received $1,300 for field trips and activities; West Bonner County Food Bank received $1,000 for supplies; Recreation Plan Committee received $1,000 for seed money to develop a long-term recreation plan for the Priest Lake Basin; Priest Lake Grange No. 447 received $1,700 for roof repairs; the Coolin Civic Center has a grant pending to be based on bids for the purchase and installation of a generator; and Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce received $440 for a microphone public address system.
