Golfing Has Always Been In His Blood
The Slice has alluded to Dean Moser’s bold quest in the past.
But now we can report that after six years of selling plasma twice a week (with about one month off each year), the determined Spokane man piled up enough money to buy the golf cart of his dreams.
It’s loaded.
He’s still selling plasma. But he has not yet decided on a new goal.
* Three things to yell at Hoopfest:
1. “He’s all over him!”

3. “You — put a shirt on! You — take yours off!”
* How to tell when people don’t really want to hear about your vacation: 1. They pretend to be having LSD flashbacks and wander off mumbling something about the New York Thruway being closed.
2. They pretend to be experiencing flare-ups of old combat injuries even though they were never anywhere near a war.
3. Their eyes are closed and you can hear snoring.
* Second serve: Keith LaMotte was playing Wiffle ball tennis with his 5-year-old grandson Tanner.
The two weren’t having much luck getting any sustained volleying going.
One time LaMotte hit it softly to the little boy and the lad really crushed it.
“Tanner,” said LaMotte, “why don’t you try to hit it softly to me so that we could hit it back and forth.”
The boy thought about it for a moment. Then he responded. “OK. You be back and I’ll be forth.”
