Connors In Hall

Compiled From Wire Services

After spending years of beating other tennis greats, Jimmy Connors will join them in the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In 1974, he won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments and was barred from playing the other - the French Open. From 1974-78 he reached the U.S. Open final in five consecutive years.

Also inducted into the Hall by international tennis media was Herman David, chairman of the All-England Lawn Tennis Club for 15 years, who was honored posthumously for his contributions to the sport.
