With a three-year contract in his pocket and a veteran team on the floor, Northern Iowa basketball coach Eldon Miller seemed set for a big season.

But after a 6-1 start that included victories over Iowa and Iowa State, the Panthers stumbled to a 10-17 record and Miller resigned after 12 years at Northern Iowa and 36 as a college coach.
