Watering The Desert
El Nino impacts
Going out of your way to see more water in this winter of the great El Nino might be the last thing Californians consider.
But this is waterfall weather, even in the desert, and people are taking advantage of it.
The chaparral in the Santa Monica Mountains generally laps up precipitation like a parched pooch.
This year, the unrelenting rainfall caused by El Nino ocean currents has saturated the ground and is creating runoff that spills into spectacular waterfalls.
