Man Accused Of Attack With Machete
A 38-year-old Coeur d’Alene man was jailed Thursday after allegedly chasing his adult stepson around the house with a machete.
Police said Charles F. Ferrario became angry when his 47-year-old stepson asked to be repaid money he spent to bail Ferrario out of jail last year. The two argued and Ferrario retrieved an 18-inch machete, according to a police report.
He then threatened to kill Jerry Cooper and chased him around the house, swinging the machete, the police report said.
Cooper ran to a neighbor’s house and called police. Ferrario has been charged with aggravated assault.
Police found a machete under a bag in the trunk of Ferrario’s car.
Ferrario told officers he grabbed the machete to protect himself from Cooper, who he said had a knife. He denied swinging the machete at Cooper.
