John Oliver Johnson Post Falls
Visitation for John Oliver Johnson, 88, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Service is planned for 3 p.m. March 21 at Community Presbyterian Church in Post Falls.
Mr. Johnson, who was born in Minnesota, died Tuesday.
He grew up in North Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1932 with a accounting degree and a in 1945 with a master’s degree in education.
Mr. Johnson worked as a teacher for 41 years in the Rose Lake, Rathdrum, Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene districts.
He was a member of Post Falls Community Presbyterian Church, a lifetime and charter member of the Post Falls Kiwanis, Rathdrum Masonic Lodge 41, the Scottish Rite bodies of Coeur d’Alene, Calam Temple of Lewiston and the Coeur d’Alene Shrine Club.
His wife, Margret, died in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Penny Waller of Hayden Lake; two foster grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Waller of Hayden Lake; two nephews and two nieces.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
Joseph Rubino Spokane
Vigil service for Joseph M. “Joey” Rubino, 75, will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Rubino, who was born in Kellogg, died Wednesday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a 53-year Spokane resident.
Mr. Rubino was produce manager for Peirone Produce for 46 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s parish, Ecumenical Council of St. Patrick’s, Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge 2.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Josephine; a son, Les McNeal of Athol, Idaho, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, Morning Star Boys Ranch or the Spokane Guilds School and Neuromuscular Center.
Margaret Ward Spokane
Memorial service for Margaret J. “Peggy” Ward, 43, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central Baptist Church. Private burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Kellogg, Ms. Ward died Wednesday.
She was raised in the Silver Valley and attended Camp Easter Seal in Worley, Idaho, for 30 years.
Ms. Ward did electronics work and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was a 20-year Spokane resident.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Ward of Osburn, Idaho; a brother, Thomas Ward of Redmond, Wash.; and a sister, Nancy Carleton of Spokane.

Katherine (Wilkinson Treiber) Johnson Spokane
Private family service for Katherine Irene (Wilkinson Treiber) Johnson, 91, will be at a later date. Inurnment will be held at the Moscow (Idaho) Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Canada, died Tuesday.
She was a homemaker and a 42-year resident of Spokane.
Her husband, Wilbert Johnson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Nickerson of Spokane; two sons, Allan Johnson of Prather, Calif., and Robert Johnson of Tahuya, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Marjorie Olson Greenacres
Memorial service for Marjorie Olson, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Olson, who was born in Spokane, died March 5.
She was a piano teacher and a homemaker and lived in the Spokane area for 74 years.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Thor; two daughters, Janice Olson of Everett and Laurie Klaue of Newman Lake; a brother, Harve Phipps Jr. of Spokane; a sister, Virginia Daubert of Tacoma; and two grandchildren.
Lavonia Sellers Hayden Lake, Idaho
Memorial services for Lavonia W. Sellers, 89, will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home. Burial will be in Santa Clara, Calif.
Mrs. Sellers, who was born in Ellis County, Texas, died Wednesday in Coeur d’Alene.
She grew up in Texas and married Hubert sellers in 1927 in Oklahoma. They moved to California in 1937.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1967 and she moved to Hayden Lake in 1994.
Mrs. Sellers is survived by a daughter Barbara Katovich of Hayden Lake; a brother, Albert Wood of Vacaville, Calif.; a sister, Joanna Avery of Frederick, Okla.; a grandson, Rick Katovich of St. Maries; and two great-grandchildren.

Joyce Shepherd Plummer, Idaho
Private service for Joyce Shepherd, 71, will be held later at her request. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shepherd, who was born in Minnesota, died Tuesday.
She grew up in Minnesota and moved with her parents to Moscow, Idaho, in 1942. After marrying Warren Shepherd in 1946, they moved to Plummer and owned the Benewah Market until 1971.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Shepherd of Plummer; two daughters, Dawn Pfeiffer of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Nancy Tefft of Coeur d’Alene; and six grandchildren.

Marguerite Baker Clayton, Wash.
Private memorial service for Marguerite Louise Baker, 75, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at The Cremation Society of Washington.
Mrs. Baker, who was born in Sedro Woolley, Wash., died Wednesday.
She graduated in 1940 from Sedro Woolley High School and later from Spokane Community College in nursing.
Mrs. Baker worked as a nurse for many years including 10 years at Rockwood Manor prior to her retirement in 1970.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Spokane.
Mrs. Baker lived in Spokane for 25 years before moving to Stevens County 30 years ago.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charles; two daughters, Ann Olsen and Pat Anderson, both of Spokane; a son, Norm Baker of Spokane; three sisters, Esther Van de Grift of Union, Ore., Doris Dyer of Quartzside, Ariz., and Regina Ash of Big Lake, Wash.; six grandsons and one great-grandson.
John William Morrison Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for John Morrison, 77, at his request. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Morrison, who was born in Ohio, died Thursday.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1971 from California and was a chiropractor.
Survivors include his wife, Cathleen; a son, John Wayne Morrison of Connecticut; and a granddaughter, Sister Jane Norcross of Atlanta.
Theodore Erickson Hunters, Wash.
Service for Theodore J. “Ted” Erickson, 87, will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedonia (Wash.) Community Church. Burial will follow at Cedonia Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Colville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Erickson, who was born in Monahon, Wash., died Wednesday.
He graduated from high school in Issaquah, and then worked on the family farm.
In 1939 he married Mildred Settem in Issaquah and they continued to farm until 1965, when they moved to Hunters.
While living in Hunters, Mr. Erickson drove a school bus for the Columbia School District for several years and also farmed.
Mr. Erickson was a past school board member and began his grange membership in Issaquah and transferred to the Greenwood Park Grange. He was also a member and board member of Cedonia Community Church.
His wife died in 1986.
Survivors include four sons, Dale and Mel Erickson, both of Hunters, Daryl Erickson of Longview, Wash., and Ray Erickson of Moore, Mont.; a brother, Tauno Erickson of Issaquah; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Gisela Arnold Spokane
No service will be held for Gisela B. Arnold. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Arnold, 63, died Monday.
She was born in Germany and in 1958 married Thomas Arnold.
They moved to the United States in 1960 and settled in the Seattle area, where they lived until moving to Spokane in 1971.
Mrs. Arnold worked at the Oak Hill Home with a Heart from 1976 to the present.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Pamela Maage of Omak, Wash., Kristie Minnard, Julie and Amber Arnold and Alida Roth, all of Spokane; four sisters, Hedde Sampson, Fretcha Marx and Edletraud and Gairundia Reinheimer, all of Germany; a brother, Adolf Reinheimer of Germany; and six granddaughters.
Ann Howard Spokane
Visitation for Ann Elizabeth Howard, 90, will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service is set for 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Orchard Prairie Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard, who was born in Stanton, Minn., died Wednesday.
In 1931, she moved to Colorado, where she cooked for a ranch and then married her boss, Bill Howard, in 1933.
They moved to Clarkston, Wash., in 1945.
Her husband died in 1948.
In 1952, she moved to Spokane and ran a milk store in Millwood for several years before becoming head cook at Bethany Home for eight years.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Sprague of Usk, Wash.; four sons, John, Bill and Mike Howard, all of Spokane and Rand Howard of Carnation, Wash.; a brother, Aldous Van Guilder of Spokane; a sister, Marjorie Wright of Clarkston; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Harold Mingo Spokane
Graveside service for Harold Kenneth Mingo, 86, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mingo, who was born in Michigan, N.D., died Tuesday.
He spent his youth in Moscow, Idaho, and was a 57-year resident of Spokane.
He was a 30-year employee of Spokane Washer Company.
His wife of 52 years, Zella, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Albert of Bloomfield, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
Ruth Williams Deer Park
Service for Ruth Mae Williams, 80, is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Hilltop Community Church of God in Deer Park. Burial will follow at the Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams, who was born in Dexter, N.M., died Tuesday.
In 1937 she married the Rev. Oran Williams in Madera, Calif.
Mrs. Williams moved to Deer Park in 1972 from Junction City, Ore.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hilltop Community Church of God.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert Williams of Scio, Ore., Melvin Williams of Deer Park and Roy Williams of Plains, Mont.; a daughter, Betty Jo Jacobsen of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
