Leann Rimes’ Single Reaches Multiplatinum

The Hollywood Reporter

Country crossover sensation LeAnn Rimes’ single “How Do I Live” was certified triple-platinum last week for domestic shipments of over 3 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

That puts it on the all-time list of top singles. Rimes’ disc is the first country single ever to reach multiplatinum status, and Rimes is only the second solo female artist ever to reach the triple-platinum mark with a single. Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” from “The Bodyguard” soundtrack is certified at 4 million copies. Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind 1997” (11 million) is the highest certified single.
