Reward Offered For Information In Pet-Poisoning Case
Authorities in Eatonville, Wash., are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the person poisoning pets in an area north of the town.
As many as 14 pets, mostly dogs, have been poisoned or found dead over the past several months, neighbors said. Residents suspect six missing animals may also have been killed.
The pet owners live within a halfmile of each other on a network of private roads.
Deputies have identified three or four people with ties to the neighborhood as persons of interest, said Sgt. Richard Huyck.
Eatonville veterinarian Lee Herzig said he knows of at least five animal poisonings and has treated some of them. He said the poison is slug bait, rat poison or strychnine.
